The Chronomètre Bleu offers a new approach to refined precision, with irreproachable chronometric properties.
The Chronomètre Bleu innovates with a 39 mm case. Made for the first time in Tantalum, a rare metal with a slightly bluish anthracite tone. Tantalum is a legendary metal used very little in watchmaking because it is hard and extremely difficult to work with, and has a very high melting temperature at 3'800 ° and a density of 16.6. Tantalum is also valuable because it offers perfect resistance to corrosion and wear. It also offers high anallergic properties being totally biocompatible with the human body.
In perfect harmony with the color of the box, the dial has been redesigned in a trendy blue chrome. The renowned F.P. Journe hands, matched with large cream-colored arabic numerals, mark the hours, while the guilloche of the small seconds at 7:30 highlights the mirror effect of the dial.
Through the transparent bottom, the balance and the escapement are mysteriously detached from the movement, beating the measure without apparent motive power. F.P.Journe placed the wheel under the dial, leaving only the center wheel to emphasize the splendid isolation of the balance.
The Chronomètre Bleu's hand-wound mechanical movement oscillates at 21,600 vibrations per hour. Two barrels, according to the classical configuration of the precision watches, operate in parallel in order to provide a stable force during the majority of its total autonomy of 56 hours. The F.P. Journe time-controlled pendulum clock, with variable inertia spread over four opposing weights, is dynamically adjusted in six different positions.
